This Kyoto machiya with charming white slatted windows and contrasting black latticework door has a brilliantly designed oriental interior.

The interior, designed around the concept of "healing", is gently lit in part by the natural light falling through the garden windows. The garden view from the cypress wood bath is one of this machiya's best kept secrets. The ceiling of the second floor living room has been removed to reveal beautiful wood beams. Spend a quite moment relaxing on the sofa bathed in the gentle light trickling through the slatted window.
